Riverside Park

Rotary Lights is an annual gift to the Coulee Region as a cooperative effort among the area's Rotary Clubs and numerous other non-profit groups and volunteer organizations. The Rotary Lights Display began in 1995 and has grown tremendously since that time because of the fantastic support from greater La Crosse community. Nearly 200,000 visitors per year enjoy this holiday tradition while driving or walking through the park.

This is a building in downtown La Crosse between 5th and 6th on Main Street. I took the picture during a camera club outing last night. It's not a great architectural shot because of the angle but I thought it was moody and spooky looking especially with the orange cast to the photo from the street light.

La Crosse

Some temporary wikipedia text:

La Crosse was incorporated as a city in 1856, but its history goes back somewhat further. The first Europeans to see the site of La Crosse were French fur traders who traveled up and down the Mississippi River beginning in the late 17th century. Despite this, there is no written record of any visit to the site until 1765, when Lt. Zebulon Pike mounted an expedition up the Mississippi River for the United States. Pike recorded the location's name as "Prairie La Crosse". The name originated when he saw the Native Americans playing a game with sticks that resembled a bishop's crozier or la crosse in French.
