Count to a million

Community: Not applicable
Posted December 14th, 2008 by Michelle

I saw this suggested on another site. It's a bit silly but I figured I'd try it anyway. Smile

The idea is that we count to a million, writing out the word(s), one post at a time. So, in the end, this thread has one million posts. Of course, it will probably be our grandkids that get there but...  Read more »

The Chit Chat thread

Community: Not applicable
Posted November 11th, 2008 by Michelle

A month ago, I started "Talkin' Tuesday" where I would start up a new thread every Tuesday for just general chit chat and small "Twitterlike" posts where you don't want to start a whole new thread. They haven't gotten a lot of attention and I wonder if people think maybe they can only post there on Tuesday?  Read more »

Are you new? Come break the ice here!

I'd like to see everyone who joins up start their very own topic in this forum to introduce themselves. But I know that starting that first topic can be intimidating when you're new to a community. So I decided to create a topic to get that scary part out of the way. Smile  Read more »

Excercise vs Diet

Gina brought up a study on the radio yesterday that concluded that diet was more important than excercise when it comes to weight loss. That's not really a surprise; it's simple math. And most of us don't work out that hard.  Read more »

Rice bags

I've been especially cold, though, this Winter and have been using it to warm myself up instead of just making my muscles feel better. So I've been heating it a couple of times a night and it's getting a bit stinky.  Read more »

Getting started down a healthier path

Posted January 5th, 2009 by Michelle

In December, I decided I really needed to have another go at seriously trying to lose weight. I'm getting older and the extra weight weighs me down physically and mentally. I know better than to start a weight loss attempt over the holidays, so I set my sites on January 2nd.  Read more »

Losing weight while being sick

Community: Not applicable
Posted January 2nd, 2009 by Roadangel

I'm sick right now and it seems like every time I'm sick I lose my ambition to do anything about anything, so I end up gaining. It's so hard to do the right thing when you're sick. Any pointers on what's easy and yet good for you? I can't do most of the diet sugars, so when I drink tea I drink it with splenda or regular sugar... when I'm sick I drink a LOT of tea.  Read more »
