(Lost it?)

In order to encourage people to post on here, I opened everything up to anonymous posting. The downside is that, if the poster chooses not to fill in their name, you end up conversing with a generic "Visitor" and it's a bit disconcerting to not even have a username to refer to. There are a few options and I'd like to hear what others think.

More explanation of the options:

#1: As it is now, when you post a comment you have the option of leaving your name, email, and website address. When you make a brand new post, you don't have any option to leave info. (Limitation of the software). Even if you leave your name and email, it just sits there and doesn't make you a member.

#2: Same as #1 except it would force people to fill in the name and email fields. I think website is still optional. This would be good for people who simply forget to put their name but annoying if someone really doesn't want to leave one and they may just put nonsense in.

#3:There is a module I just found out about that will let me put the registration form right on the same form you use to add a post. The downside is that people would be forced to register while posting if not logged in. There is no way I can set it so a person can choose whether to register or just post anonymously. I also don't think it works on comments, so it would only work when starting a new post.

#4: This would put it back to how it used to be where you can't post unless you've registered and are logged in. I don't like this idea but thought I'd throw it in for completeness.

#5: If you have another idea, I'd love to hear it. Smile
