I want to get the word out about this site so I'm going to make up some flyers. I was wondering if you all could help me put a list together of where to put them up. Any place that will let me put one up for free is good. Also, if you know any places that one would think would let you but you know for sure won't, that would be good to know, too.
Here's some initial thoughts on possible places
- Festival (Maybe... They have a spot to put stuff up but I think you need permission)
- Book Trader (I'm going to ask if I can put up one geared towards the SF/F/H group)
- Once Upon A Child (They might let me put up one about the parks directory)
- Woodmans (Definite no. They took down their bulletin board.
) - Quillins (I don't shop there. Does anyone know if they have a board?)
- Lindys (They have some local flyers up in the window, so maybe)
- Schools (I'm not in school anymore. Does anyone go to a school that would let flyers be posted somewhere?)
- Churches (Nothing really religious on here at the moment, so probably not unless they have a board for local stuff)
Hmm... Now that I'm actually sitting down trying to think of a list I'm not coming up with many. I could really use your help on this. Here's some of the "themes" I was thinking of to target the flyers better:
- General - Just a general flyer saying what you can do here
- Parks - Highlighting the parks directory
- Meet people - Emphasizing getting to know people
- Business directory - For each business listed here, I want to ask if they'd put up a flyer that says "This business listed at Coulee Region ONLINE... etc"
- Area information - Highlighting the local information you can find here. What local information? Yeah, I know, I gotta work on that part. :P
- Ad posting - I need to do the classifieds section first but the idea is to put this on boards that are chock full of ads and offer an online alternative
- Any other ideas?
Ok, that's a start. Your feedback / suggestions most welcome. Also, if anyone wants to help pass flyers out, I'll put up PDFs of them when they're ready.

Oooh, nice one. There's one down on 35 that advertises they have wireless. Will have to check that for sure because there may be people in there with laptops and you're more likely to check something out if you can do it right then soon as you see it.
