Photos from the 2010 La Crosse Fitness Festival are now online. A few important notes before we get to the link. Please only link to this post and not the gallery directly so these notes are seen and also because the gallery will only be up a short while.
- The photos are small, just big enough for sharing online. There are three thousand of them and I don't have room to host print sized ones.
- I will be giving larger versions to the La Crosse Park & Rec department. When they put them online, I will link to them here. You will be able to go there and get photos big enough to print.
- These are only the photos that I personally took. We had several members of the La Crosse Are Camera Club there photographing and we will all be giving our photos to the Park & Rec. When their gallery is online, there will be a much larger selection, including the cycling criterium that I didn't get.
- These photos are free for participants to share, scrapbook, whatever. They will also be free for the Park & Rec to use. They are not in the public domain, however, so 3rd parties are not permitted use them for commercial purposes.
- Please don't link directly to a photo when sharing it but rather copy it to your computer and upload it. Otherwise your link will be broken when the gallery comes down.
- I took these photos because I like helping out the community so there is no obligation for anything. But, if you want to do me a favor in return, I would love to have people tell their friends about Coulee Region Online.
We're a small community site with no advertising budget so word of mouth is gold!

Just got home from photographing the second day of the annual La Crosse Fitness Festival down in Myrick park in La Crosse. I got photos of nearly all of the marathon runners. Missed a few during my 10ish minute break and then decided not to stay for the last two at the end of the marathon since they were about 25 minutes behind the 3rd last. Yesterday I was down at Riverside Park in La Crosse and got 1500 photos of the 5K run/walk, the start out of the Cycle Tour, and all the kids races. So there's tons of photos coming up.
If anyone is looking for photos from the Fitness Festival, bookmark this thread. I will be posting a gallery of just my photos either tonight or tomorrow to get some out quick. Then I and the other La Crosse Area Camera Club members who volunteered to take Fitness Festival photos will be handing our photos over to the La Crosse Park and Rec department. They will put them all together into one photo gallery and make them available. Last year they didn't get it done until December... They said they'd be quicker this year but it could still take a while since they have to hand it off to the IT department and hope for the best.
So stay tuned to this spot and I'll link to the La Crosse Fitness Festival 2010 photos as soon as I have them ready.
