How can I make my profile private

How can I make my profile private so that its visible only to my friends ?
How I can block an user so that gbook comments or pm by him do not come to me
and I do not see posts made by that blocked user?

And how do I see a list of comments I have made ?

[Edit by Michelle: Been thinking this makes more sense in the site forum... moving it]

Hello and welcome. This is the introductions forum... Care to introduce yourself? Smile

As for your questions, I don't have privacy set up on the profiles. It hasn't been an issue so far but I can certainly look into it if you're concerned.

For blocking a user, there's a module I've been considering installing. I don't know if it applies to the guestbook, though. Will have to check. Are you having a problem with a user? We're a pretty small community so I'm hoping everyone gets along. If you're having a problem with someone, please let me know and I'll see if I can help.

You can see the list of topics you've participated in on your profile. It doesn't list individual comments due to a quirk in the software I use for this site that I haven't been able to work around, yet.

Michelle

No, no Tongue , I am not having any problem with any user

But in general, all such sites allow me to make my profile ( and profile comments or guestbook comments )
available only to me or to my friends or general public. Same for blogs and galleries also.

Opposite to "add as friend" is "block this user" almost universally available. So I was just curious Smirk

Ok, I added a module to protect the profile data. It puts a little padlock by each field and lets you set who can see it. At this time, there is no way to just block an entire section or the entire profile in one go but I hope to be able to add that in the coming months with some work that is being done.

I also added the option to block a whole user. You should see a link at the bottom of a person's post to block them. I need to do some work to make it integrate with the fourms better, especially with putting the option on the followup comments, but it's a start.

Thanks for the suggestions. Smile

I know I said back in May that I was hoping to add the ability to restrict the entire profile but it hasn't happened, yet. I guess I was over optimistic. Sad

How are the privacy settings coming along?

They're not, unfortunately. The module that I'm using for profiles is really primitive compared to the planned module. But the planned module will be mostly done by someone else and only assisted by me and that someone else is very busy. I don't have an eta at this time. All I can reccomend is not posting stuff you don't want the public to see. Which really limits the usefulness, I know, but that's all I have right now. Sad

Hi. I on numerous occasions scan this forum. This is the head together unqualified to ask a topic.
How multifarious in this forum are references progressive behind, disingenuous users?
Can I bank all the facts that there is?

@Acalfect - I'm sorry, but I can't make heads nor tails out of that. Could you try your question again?
