Holmen area preschools?

My son will be 3.5 this Fall and we're considering putting him in preschool. I tried doing a web search for "holmen preschool" and mostly hit the usual generic directory sites. Since he's my oldest, I'm not sure even where to start with this. Does anyone have any opinions on any of the preschools? Or know what to look for?

This is one of those problems that would be easier if this site was done. LOL! One of my goals for the site is a totally local search so when you want to find something locally you don't get all the cruft you get when searching Google.

Just throwing my two cents in.
I didn't go to preschool, and look how far I've come. 20, barely graduated high school, didn't have enough motivation to go to college, now I can't get a job... if only I'd gone to preschool... *sigh* lol... Smile

LOL! Well, I don't expect preschool will have a huge impact on his life 17 years from now. But it will give him something to do a couple days a week, give me a break, teach him to play nice with other kids, and maybe learn a thing or two. So I figured we'd give it a try. Smile

Oh, I do. It's been nearly 4 years since I got pregnant with my oldest and the only time I've been away for more than a few hours was when I was in the hospital giving birth to the youngest. I love my children but I'm going nuts. I really need a nice long stretch when I can just get off by myself. Like a whole weekend or something. Heh... Well, it's a nice dream anyway.Smile

Michelle I might have a spot if you are interested. I run Little Steps Learning Center in Holmen. I do a great preschool program as well.

Let me know if you are interested.

Jessica

Sorry to take so long answering. I was out of town without internet the last couple days.

I haven't had a chance to do any more research into this, yet. I'm hoping to make some calls tomorrow. How many pre-school kids do you usually have? One of my reasons for wanting him in preschool is to help him build social skills, so I'm looking for more of a classroom type setting instead of a daycare+ kind of thing.

Thanks,

Michelle

Just following up. I decided to go with Shephard's Flock in Onalaska. I ended up not doing much research on my own. My friend had already done the research and gave me a run down of what she found. The things I liked, aside from the fact that her daughter is my son's best friend and having them in the same class is cool, are the fact that SF has 2 teachers and 1 administrator there rather than just one teacher and the room the kids are in is quite large. It's a slightly farther drive and a bit more expensive than Little Lamb, which was another I was considering, but I think the pros make up for it. We visited a class and I really liked what I saw. So he's all signed up and ready to go come September.
