Google Chrome

So I downloaded Google Chrome a few minutes ago to check it out. Man, is that screamin'! Even this site pops up in a split second. Awesome!

I've only used it a few minutes so need to give it a good shakeout but I think this may just replace Opera as my primary browser.

Anyone else try it out yet?

Michelle

Nope, all i have is the google bar on my desktop. I have Charter-high speed internet so I'm always online. The google bar has a popup blocker.

I have Charter, too. I use a variety of browsers for different things and Chrome is by far the fastest. It's missing some things I'm used to in Opera, though, so I haven't totally switched.

I didn't even know google was making a web browser. I really hate browsers that have all kinds of toolbars that take up most of the screen and leave very little for actuall browsing, So at first glance I really like this new browser. I just installed it and so far it looks good.

@Roadangel: I still use Firefox for development work because I can't live without extensions like firebug. But it has severe memory issues, often consuming insane amounts like 500MB for just a few tabs. So I use Opera for general browsing, which is where I tend to have a lot of tabs open, and reserver FF for dev work. Chrome is really nice, but I do miss the quick links that Opera has so I'm undecided if I'll switch to it as my primary browser. It's a nice alternate, though. I'm using it right now, in fact.

@d_boggus: I didn't know, either, until about a week ago. I've heard they made a sudden push to publicize this beta and went so fast they even goofed up the EULA. I don't like a lot of toolbars open, either. That's another reason why I don't browse with FF anymore. All those web development toolbars take up too much space.
