Stuff your own animal at OUAC

Once Upon A Child (by Festival in Onalaska) has got this new thing where you can buy an animal shell for $9.99 and then stuff it yourself. They've got clothes and accessories for it, too. It sounds kind of like a scaled down version of the Build a Bear Workshop. I haven't tried it, but it sounds like it might be fun for kids. They said they can handle groups of kids (like for a party or something) if you call ahead.

Also, I was there today and they're having one of their massive clearance sales. Tons of toys and clothes half price. I bought 9 little outfits for my soon to come baby for $20. Can't beat that!

MICHELLE, Do you know the hours or a phone number for this place. I was thinking about taking my kids. Plus the price is right.

So today I took my two children to "Build A Bear" at the Once Upon a Child store. I have to say that was so cool watching my kids pick out an animal, outfit, then help stuff it. The price is great. It was $9.99 for the animals then $5.99 for an outfit. That is so much cheaper then the mail price, where we lived before. Only thing is that I wish we had more outfits to pick from. Overall that place was cool.

The store on the other hand is way over packed. There is too many things in that store. You don't need to have 10 bath tubs to sell. I just have a thing with clutter when I am looking for clothes or toys for the kids. I like to be in an out especially when I have the kids. I think they need to get a bigger building or not take so much. The place in Racine would only take things in the Spring and Winter. On the other hand I do like that I had a tone to choose from. Especially when it comes to shoes. My kids had a blast playing with all the toys. I will go back and hopefully drop some of my kids clothes off. Dropping stuff off is hard since most of my kids clothes is from stores like this or rummage.

If you think OUAC is crowded, better stay out of Bearly Used in Holmen. You can hardly walk through that one! I usually only go there when I can go kidless.

Considering how packed they (OUAC) are, they actually are surprisingly picky on what they'll take. Absolutely nothing with a stain or noticible wear or even a missing tag. And they even get picky on what sort of clothes they'll take. I brought stuff there once and they turned down things that I had bought there originally and never used! They don't pay much, either. I think next time I'll save myself the hassle and take things to Goodwill. It's not worth it trying to sell there. Buying, though, is great, especially when they have one of their mega clearance days. I bought 20 onsie type outfits for my newborn there for $20 a few weeks ago. Can't beat that!

I love it there. I also shop there when they have their Dollar sales... that's when I buy most of my stuff. I mean... Ralph Lauren for a buck? Gotta love it!!!

Yeah, my kids rarely get new clothes. I just can't see paying full price for things they out grow so fast. Most of their new things are either presents or clearance items. OUAC is great for that.

On that note, Bearly Used in Holmen is having a sale. They have a tent out front with everything half priced. Their stuff isn't quite as nice as OUAC, but it's pretty decent.
