Today marks one year since I flipped the switch and opened Coulee Region ONLINE to the public. I was intending it as a sort of live preview, a way to start building the community while I finished the site. I never expected the site to still be under construction a year later. The forums this last year are filled with me apologizing for this or that not working and promising the it would all be fixed Real Soon Now. But real life is what it is and this is a hobby site so it gets what attention I can give it, which is often not much. And here we are on the big day and the new feature I wanted to put in place to celebrate is still not ready. I could apologize again and feel sorry for myself because I just don't have enough free time but I had a moment this morning when I decided enough was enough.
No more apologizing, no more excuses.
This site is a labor of love, a hobby, a work in progress, and it's time I just accepted it for what it is. As time goes on it will get better. Things will get fixed, new features will get added, but it's going to take time. Probably a long time. It's never going to be done because I'm a fiddler and always will be. But there's a bunch of stuff that works already so let's use it and have some fun getting to know each other here in the Coulee Region. I'll try hard not to break the stuff that already works while I fix the stuff that doesn't, and we'll just keep moving on at our own speed.
They say life's a journey, not a destination. I guess the same can be said for websites.

THAT's the spirit, Michelle! And congratulations on your official launch day.
Hey, you're back!
It was getting lonely around here without you.
Thanks for the congrats. It's hard to believe it's been a year already! I've been working hard on that surprise whenever I get the chance... It's turning out to be a lot more work than I expected but I think it will be worth it. Stay tuned.
Michelle
Yeah, I refreshed my browser so your site fell out of the usual rotation accidentally, lol... Sorry I made you miss me so! Pretty pleas will you ever forgive me?! lol I can't wait to see what you've come up with to celebrate!
Awww, I forgive you. I just got worried because you stopped posting so abruptly so I wanted to be sure everything was ok.
I can't wait to unveil what I've been working on. I think it's pretty nice. But I've got more work to do on it and it has to wait a bit because I have client work I need to do first. Crossing my fingers for this weekend but no promises.
Michelle
Thank you for your concern!
An' like I said... can't wait to see it! <3
