Count to a million

I saw this suggested on another site. It's a bit silly but I figured I'd try it anyway. Smile

The idea is that we count to a million, writing out the word(s), one post at a time. So, in the end, this thread has one million posts. Of course, it will probably be our grandkids that get there but...

[Edit based on Crystal's idea below. We'll start out aiming for 50 first and then celebrate and set a new goal. And if you want to say something else with your number, that's great, too. Leave a quick note about what you're doing or what you think about the number or whatever. But if you're shy and just want to write your number, that's fine. Smile ]

Two.
Actually... maybe we should start off with a smaller, less intimidating goal... like, say, fifty. And when we get to fifty (just so we get a small feeling of accomplishment) we can increase to 100. then 200. and so on. But it's an interesting idea. I kinda like it because someone who wants to post doesn't have to think about what to write first. they can just... post something. and if something comes to mind, they can write it here, too.

Well, we can't leave it on thirteen, so, Fourteen!

I know I said I wasn't going to slack off on the site even when I got busy but, man, I just don't know how I'm going to get everything done. I got my parents a digital frame for Christmas that I need to fill with photos which means I need to process a bunch of photos. And it needs to get to Colorado so it needs to be shipped like yesterday. Then there's the three clients whose projects I need to work on. And the support requests are piling up for my modules. And then I had this crazy idea to start up a weight loss group that I need to get some content written for. Then there's the camera club site that I really need to get updated before our next meeting in January. Then there's the fact that our downstairs is still in shambles and undecoratable. And I still have presents to buy and haven't wrapped anything. And the house is a mess and I'm losing my battle with the kitchen and bathrooms. And I'm trying to dig out bedroom out of piles of laundry and sort out the clothes the kids have outgrown. And I finally got our Christmas cards ready to be addressed and stamped and now they need to be addressed and stamped and mailed out, also yesterday. And, of course, there's the two children who expect me to take care of them.

Whew. I'm sure I left something out there. But you can see why I've been kinda quiet again. I'll have more time in January to devote to the site. For now, I'm just trying to keep it on life support. LOL

I have to order some more Christmas cards and sent them out.. I thought i had enough but I didn't. My house is a mess too, but it'll stay that way until after Christmas when I will clean everything up once instead of doing it now and then afterwards again.

It goes to the second page at 30 posts, I believe. I set it pretty high because there are some parts of the software that don't deal well with multip page posts. If you jump to the newest post using the link in the forum topic list it works, but the link from the "what's new" page doesn't work. There's also the problem that when you reply you get taken back to the first page instead of your new post. If these are bothering others, I can set the posts per page even higher.

Thirty-nine. My family has all been in their 60's or older before the had surgery... so far I have no signs of it.
