Squirrels?

Growing up in Sheboygan, squirrels were always grey. Then I moved out here and there seems to be a ton of different varieties. One type, that I have only ever seen on the UW-L campus, looks like it's wearing pants. My husband and I joked that there's some genetic experiments going on there. LOL!

Anyone into squirrels know what kind that is? Just how many different kinds are there, anyway?

I know it's illegal in La Crosse to worry a squirrel... Hope it's not illegal to worry about them... Wink

As you know we are new to the area. We can from Racine, WI. Squirrels, trees, and no sidewalks were the first things I noticed when we got up here in May. First I can't believe how many squirrels are around plus all the black ones. I have seen those who like wearing pants, kind of interesting.

This might be a good subject to have our children who need something interesting to look up duing their time off.

You might have some luck getting your 5 year old to investigate, but my 2.5 year old can't read yet so I'm out of luck there. I wonder if I contacted someone in the science department at UWL if they'd know? I've been here 12 years, now, and have always wondered about this.
